About Rakhi Beekrum

Rakhi Beekrum is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). She consults in Durban North and with inpatients at medical and psychiatric hospitals in Durban. Rakhi works with adults and couples, providing evidence-based treatment for a wide range of emotional problems.

She is a member of the International Psycho-Oncology Society due to her special interest in working with patients who have cancer, as well as their families. With a background in media & communication, Rakhi is passionate about spreading mental health awareness and reaching out via social media to those who do not have easy access to individual therapy. Her expert advice has been featured in different forms of media (e.g. print, radio, television and social media) to help individuals lead more meaningful lives. Rakhi is also a motivational speaker, focusing on women’s health and personal development.
